What is Pehel Films?

Pehel Films is an Indian media production house founded in 2025, working across documentaries, branded content and advertising.

Once upon a time, at a media school, three know-it-alls from different parts of the country teamed up—only to realise they didn’t know it all. The course ended, but the arguments didn’t. So we started something of our own, just to keep them going.

That something is Pehel Films.

We’re a media production company working across documentaries, branded content, and advertising. We believe a good story, told right, can do more than just engage—it can stay with you.

What makes us different is where we come from: three founders, three very different backgrounds, and one shared instinct for storytelling. That mix shapes how we see stories—and how we tell them.

At the end of the day, we’re a bunch of storytellers who like asking questions, pushing ideas, and making things that feel real.

Namya Jain, founder of Pehel Films

Namya Jain

Namya Jain

Namya Jain is a filmmaker, cinematographer, and producer based in Mumbai, with a strong foundation in documentary storytelling and visual narratives. An alumna of A.J.K. Mass Communication Research Centre (AJK MCRC), she has built her practice around stories that bridge culture, people, and purpose through her creative vision.

Her portfolio includes projects such as the independent documentary series Main Bhi Bharat, Fatak Se Famous, and Sanjeevan.

Namya has also contributed to long-format production as an assistant cinematographer on the Amazon Prime Video series Dupahiya.

Beyond documentaries and series, she has worked across advertising and branded-content campaigns in direction and production capacities, collaborating with L’Oréal, Kérastase, HDFC Bank, Bandhan Bank, and Tanishq.

Rohit Deb

Rohit Deb is a documentary filmmaker and writer from Kolkata, currently based in New Delhi. An alumnus of AJK MCRC, Jamia Millia Islamia, his work spans documentaries, branded content, and non-fiction storytelling rooted in the cultural landscapes of the Indian subcontinent.

He has worked on documentary productions for international broadcasters, including Channel News Asia, Singapore, and has directed branded campaigns for Toyota, Honda, and TVS.

His independent work includes a documentary commissioned by NIFT Delhi and ICSSR on the revival of a fading art form in rural Bihar. His documentary short Fatak Se Famous has screened at national and international festivals and received the Award of Excellence at CPOY 80 in the Multimedia: Documentary Short category.

As a writer-director, Rohit is drawn to stories of human relationships, memory, identity, and the quiet forces that shape everyday lives.

Adnan Yusuf

Adnan Yusuf is a filmmaker, editor, and storyteller working across documentary and fiction. A graduate of AJK Mass Communication Research Centre (AJK MCRC), Jamia Millia Islamia, he is drawn to stories that explore aspiration, identity, and the human experience.

His directing work includes the documentaries Fatak Se Famous and Gher, along with films for NGOs and social impact organisations. Fatak Se Famous has screened at national and international film festivals and received the Award of Excellence at CPOY 80 in the Multimedia: Documentary Short category.

As an editor, he has shaped documentaries and corporate films, and has worked as an assistant and associate director on the Physics Wallah web series, Taleem Music videos, and advertising films for Honda, Master’s Union, and Toyota.

Across formats, his work is rooted in observation, empathy, and a curiosity about the lives people build, inherit, and dream of.
